I grew up in nearby Greeley on a dairy farm with my parents, one brother and two sisters. I graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science from CSU in 1972, and with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1975. I spent one year as an intern at the animal reproduction center at Colorado State University.

After graduation, I married my college sweetheart Phylis, and we have three children, Ryan, Diana and Paul. (They are all currently in college, so retirement in nowhere near in the future). After the internship I started my own practice in Fort Collins, and have been in practice here since 1976. We moved into our current location in the spring of 1986, and did a major remodel and expansion in 1998.

As a veterinarian I acquired a professional interest in veterinary dentistry about 10 years ago, and have pursued advanced training in dentistry since that time. I receive referrals from the Colorado front range, the western slope, and from most of Wyoming. I am an active member of the American Veterinary Dental Society, and have been fortunate enough to have served as president of that organization in 2004 and 2005. In February of 2007, I received my diplomate status from the American Veterinary Dental College.

Some of my outside interests are music, gardening, racquetball and rugby, and watching the best team in the National Football League- the Denver Broncos. I am an active member of Timnath Presbyterian Church, where I sing in the church choir, and help teach some of the adult classes.

Customer Service has always been important to me and I try to treat all clients as I expect to be treated. I enjoy working with the clients. I enjoy the people I work with as we are a very diverse group. One thing you will hear at Front Range Veterinary Clinic is laughter. This is something people don’t usually hear, people who love their jobs.

I have been married to Steve for 31 years and we have two sons. One lives in Colorado, and the youngest lives in Washington State. We have 3 dogs, 2 Golden Retrievers and a Lab Mix.

I am passionate about cooking. Forget the 30 minute meals! I enjoy taking care of all things house- pets, garden, rose beds etc. I enjoy camping, fishing and warm weather vacations. I do love living in Colorado; sun and warm weather are for me.

I enjoy the challenge of working here. No day is the same; you have to be prepared for anything. It’s fun to see the animals grow and change. We have a great staff and a fun working environment here.

I like to read and enjoy working in my yard. I have 3 cats and enjoy their company.
